Teacher paychecks?
Off because of spring break, lets start back with an easy question.
a.-Should school teachers receive automatic pay raises each year?
b.-How much of a pay raise should a teacher get each year?
c.-Should get pay raises only if the students pass tests proving that the student was well taught? d.-When should a teacher not get pay raises?

Teachers and pay raises:
a. Teachers should recieve some sort of automatic pay raise for each year they teach.
b. I don't know how much they should get.
c. Teachers should be evaluated (possibly by a couple people from a parents group and also by an school administrator). Also, evaluations by the students at the end of the year.
This (possibly) would give the best overall evaluation for bonuses for doing well.
d. In my opinion, if a teacher is doing so poorly that they don't deserve a raise, maybe they don't deserve to return the next year to teach.
I think that the teacher should only recieve a raise if the students are learning. The teachers should get evaluated both by administration and by the students.

Well I think that if the majority of the students pass a test that shows how much they learned then maybe so. But if the teacher is teaching high school students college level material then no that teacher probably needs a pay cut because the students arent learning very much.
I think that teachers should get a certain amount of pay raise each year, but i also think that they should be reviewed to see how well they are actually doing in their classroom. I also think that how much they make should kind of depend on how well they are teaching. If you have any kind of common sense at all, you can tell which teachers are really dedicated and which ones aren't. The ones that are teaching and making sure that their students learn should get paid more that the others.
The teacher should be tested to see if they are teaching the standard testing are a good why to see if the students are learning. The teachers should not just get a raise if they have not taught the basic skills. I do beleive that teachers should be payed more if they are doing their jobs.
I think that students should decide what teachers get pay raises. Students know when they are really being taught and when they are not. Raises should be given with a lot of consideration. The school should look at the students test scores, what kind of work they do. Ultimatly, teachers that are doing their jobs should get raises.

The only automatic pay raises I support are cost-of-living raises that simply adjust pay to the current economy.
All other raises should be based on merit.
